Using music from all over the world, each Nia class begins with a focus and intent to guide your attention and support your movement awareness and training. Based on simple moves that are easy to learn, each Nia routine combines both choreography and FreeDance, where anything goes movement-wise! Each class offers you movement options for what your body needs. This means that whether you feel cranky, tired, happy, or burned out, you will be encouraged to connect to your body, mind, spirit and emotions, dance what you sense, and express your uniqueness. I love being a Nia Teacher because it allows me to connect to my students with all of the gifts that I've developed throughout my life. I need Nia because it helps me get into my own body, feel my feelings, and share my unique spirit. Magic happens when I start the music.  I love listening, not just to the music, but to what you need. I love hearing inspiring images called Nia "Pearls," that give our movement feeling and energy. I love moving together as a group, creating community, encouraging self-discovery, and inspiring joy.  Come, join me!    ~ Aliess "Aliess' Nia classes feed my body and soul. Her caring, non-judgmental guidance and warmth welcome all who enter. Her Nia dance workout stretches the spirit as well as the body, strengthens the mind and every muscle, and relaxes tension as it heals the emotions. No other exercise class offers all these opportunities in one place and time. Aliess does so with joy and heart."~ Karen Dexter Rolison, Nia Blue Evanston, IL - US - 1400 Greenleaf Street YYYY/MM/DD
